Little about us

We are a young local couple, Chef Giwan Kim (Ken) and Pastry Chef Sun Young Park (Rachel) passionate about our cooking and service. We love to bake, we love to eat and we love to talk with our patrons.

 

Chef Giwan Kim

Giwan kim (Ken) grew up in South Korea, watching mum cook and loved his neighborhood’s fare. Ken undertook Professional Design training at a Korean University. He then went on to study French cuisine at Le Cordon Bleu, in Sydney. Since residing in Sydney in 2008, he worked across more than 10 restaurants providing many varieties of fine dine cuisine.

Now he provide his own cuisine inspired by traditional Korean cuisine and Modern contemporary cuisine. 

Pastry Chef

Sun young Park

Sun young Park (Rachel) grew up in South Korea. Rachel undertook Professional commercial pastry at famous pastry highschool in Korea.

Rachel specialized in French pastries at Le Cordon Bleu, in Sydney. Since she arrived in Australia, she worked in the fine pastry kitchen at Baroque on the Rocks, then the Cupcake Bakery as manager, then onto Bourke Street Bakery, one of best bakeries in Australia.

Now she serve modern dessert inspired by Korean ingredients and flavors at S.O.G
